Guidance 3
Control Reliability
A commercial assessment should trace how water could reach the property, what functions and assets could be affected, how existing controls may fail, and which decisions require maintenance, investigation, design, emergency planning or capital investment.
For this topic, the organization should inspect exterior, roof, sewer and below-grade conditions. The decision should be recorded with the responsible owner, evidence used, limitations, review date and any need for qualified technical, legal, insurance or municipal advice.
Commercial resilience depends on connected decisions. Building systems, site drainage, occupancy, maintenance, emergency response, continuity and capital planning should not be evaluated as isolated programmes.
